Age at cutoff date
Find your completed age on a specified date, using your date of birth and the cutoff date.
Dates stay in this page's memory. Calculation runs on your device without sending or saving your dates. No account needed.
Enter the two dates
Enter both dates, including the year. Supported years: 0001–9999. Use the cutoff date stated in the relevant notification, rather than today's date.

Your age in years, months and days will appear here after calculation.
What does age as on a cutoff date mean?
It is your age on that specific date, which may differ from your age today. Applications often use a fixed cutoff date so everyone is assessed on the same date. A different cutoff date can change the calculated age.
Calendar and leap-day rule
We count complete calendar months from the original birth date, then split them into years and months and count the remaining days. Each monthly anniversary uses the original birth day. If that day does not exist in the target month, we use its last day. For example, 31 January to 28 February 2025 is 1 month and 0 days; to 30 March 2025 it is 1 month and 30 days.
For a 29 February birth date, this calculator counts a full year on 28 February in a non-leap year and on 29 February in a leap year. Later months again use the original day (29), not the clamped February day. This is the calculator's generic arithmetic policy, not an exam's birthday or eligibility rule.
We use the Gregorian calendar for years 0001–9999, including its leap-year rules. Dates are calendar dates, not times: your timezone and daylight-saving changes do not affect the answer. We do not divide elapsed time by 365.
Age only — check the official notification
This tool does not decide eligibility. Exams and recruitment processes can have different age limits, leap-day rules, category relaxations and date-of-birth ranges. Verify the official notification's requirements and cutoff date before applying.
